Our
Philosophy
"Glendale's
Go Figure" - Half-bred Connemara out of a thoroughbred mare
by Erin's Go Bragh winning the Half-Bred Futurity for Region III
in 2001.
We
at Glendale Farm believe in breeding horses that are both athletic
and versatile. In our purebreds we strive to enforce the natural
sturdiness and dependability that defines the Connemara breed,
and seek to enhance good conformation, free flowing movement and
athleticism.
Glendale
Farm also aims to cross Connemaras with Thoroughbreds and Warmbloods
to create size and versatility. There's no reason why a person's
size should prohibit them from enjoying their very own Connemara.
The kids shouldn't be the only ones having fun.
The
Glendale Farm team begins by imprinting each of our foals when
they are born and spend time with them every day in order to promote
their sociability and trust of people. By the time they are ready
to be backed, they already have a trusting and eager-to-please
attitude.
We
do not train our Glendale Farm horses for one riding discipline
only. We truly believe in the often-heard motto that, "Connemaras
do it all!" We try to expose our ponies to all different
kinds of disciplines that the Virginia Horse Country offers. These
include: trail riding, foxhunting, hunters, jumpers, dressage,
combined training, driving and showing in hand. Even then, we
believe there is no limit to the ability and versatility of these
wonderful ponies.
